I am really disappointed in this book. It offers next to no insight into which trails offer what kind of experience. I was hoping for a book that would give me an evocative preview of hikes, to allow me to do triage/prioritization while in the area, an offline replacement for websites and apps since I'm expecting hit or miss cell data signal. But this book mostly offers short summaries of difficulty and how to find the trailheads. Useful, but woefully incomplete.There isn't even an overview map that shows where the featured hikes are in relation to each other, so I can't even triage by proximity. And the detail maps are, honestly, not really very detailed.The photos are indeed color, but most of them look entirely uninspired; it's tough for me to tell how much is the poor print quality is and how much just that the composition is boring.This isn't a guidebook, there just isn't nearly enough guidance in it. Someone unfamiliar with the area, like me, still won't have enough insight to choose hikes they'll enjoy most. Maybe it's useful as a local's quick reference, where you have time to just try every trail and figure out for yourself which ones are your favorites. I love this new book! I have bought one every time there is a new addition out, and keep them handy. Sometimes I don’t quite understand all of the directions, but usually I am OK. Love the book.
